GuideIT is a US based technology services company focused on providing value to its customers through technology alignment and optimization. We are currently looking for a Medical Records Abstractor Lead to join our team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Medical Records Abstractor Lead will perform daily oversight responsibilities of the Abstraction Team, quality reviews for continuous improvement, as well as execute timely and efficient abstraction of medical record charts. This role will play an integral part in meeting and optimally exceeding GuideIT customer expectations in the Healthcare industry.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Ensure support for all team operations in meeting service level obligations.
- Oversee day-to-day operations activities.
- Training and mentoring of Team Members
- Track completion of assigned work and report status
- Compile and contribute to customer and executive reporting associated to operational delivery
- Provide input and recommendations to improve the overall abstraction process
- Build relationships that promote a collaborative environment
- Accurate tracking of chart and time completion
- Oversee level of efficiency of current processes and collaborate with Leadership on issue resolution
- Support Team Members in reaching optimal potential within their roles
- Carry out training programs and quality procedures
- Maintain a detailed account and documents of training and quality discussions/meetings with team members for reporting purposes
- Cross checking of patient demographics for accurate patient identification
- Searching computerized medical records for pertinent patient information
- Correct data entry of patient data
- Accurate review of electronic provider patient schedules
- Other duties as assigned by Leadership
- 3+ years’ experience in clinical data abstraction or applicable healthcare role
- Prior experience in a Team Lead, mentorship, or Quality Analyst role
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Prior experience with electronic medical record systems (Epic, Athena, eCW, GE Centricity, Cerner)
- Preference given to candidates with advanced clinical degree; having worked in a clinical setting
- Detail oriented, dependable and ability to multi-task
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
- Protect the confidential nature of the clinical data accessed through employment with GuideIT pass mandatory HIPPA compliance training
- Must be able to work independently and as a team, in a home office environment
- Must have proactive and clear communication skills with team members and leadership
- Demonstrates proficiency in computer fundamentals and applications; able to learn new computer applications (Electronic Capture Tools, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
- High school diploma and/or GED certificate required
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
